Summary

Enemy Pie by Derek Munson

The narrator’s summer is set to be perfect until Jeremy Ross moves into the neighborhood. He quickly becomes the one and only person on the narrator’s enemy list, but Dad has the perfect solution, Enemy Pie! One small glitch, for the pie to work, the narrator must spend a whole day being nice to his enemy. This entertaining story with a wonderful message makes an excellent anchor text for practicing comprehension strategies such as: identifying the author’s purpose, determining importance, making predictions, synthesizing, and understanding text structure.
