Summary

Amazing Grace by Mary Hoffman

This is the inspiring story of a girl who refuses to let other people tell her what she can and cannot do. Grace has her heart set on playing the role of Peter Pan and must prove that she can, even though she’s both black and a girl. Students will quickly come to Grace’s defense as they learn to use comprehension strategies to connect with the book and take away lessons that will help them to understand that a person can do anything if they put their mind to it.
